 Zimbabwe 2010 high carbon ferrochrome output totals 154336 tonnes
Bloomberg reported that Zimbabwe has produced 154,336 tonnes of high carbon ferrochrome worth USD 135 million in 2010, more than double the 72,223 tonnes in 2009.

Zimasco said on March 3rd 2011 that it plans to spend USD 300 million to expand its Kwekwe based smelter. Zimbabwe been mining chrome on Zimbabwe's Great Dyke mountain range since about 1918.

Nickel output rose to 6,133 tonnes in 2010 from 4,858 tonnes in the previous year. Nickel is mined in the northeastern town of Bindura by Mwana Africa Plc owned Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited.
